Jared Kirschner

Jared is the Director of Business Development at The Retreat of Broward and is a native of Medford, New Jersey. He holds his bachelor's degree in marketing/business development from Rutgers University. Jared has been working in substance abuse industry for over a decade. He has a passion for helping those that are seeking recovery and has been instrumental in assisting many afflicted by addicted as well as working closely with their families. Jared leads with ethics and integrity as his primary focus and has been successful in developing working relationships with other providers locally and out of state. Jared is a valued member of The Retreat of Broward.

Alejandro Jimenez, RN

As Director of Nursing, Alejandro brings an abundance of supervisory and managerial experience to The Retreat of Broward. Alejandro is a Registered Nurse who has worked in a variety of medical areas and has focused on mental health and addiction treatment from early in his career. Alejandro is a member of the Florida Nurses Association and has a degree in Business Administration as well as Nursing. Alejandro’s achievements span across the addiction field and into other industries. Prior to becoming a nurse, he worked in the fashion and textiles industries, film & video production, and in the retail sector. Alejandro takes great pride in being a part of a profession that allows him to help people overcome difficult challenges. "Our facility and more importantly our close-knit team of professionals provide an incredibly supportive and dignified approach to care. Our clients feel heard and understood”.

Alex has been with The Retreat of Broward for 2 years as a staff Registered nurse and is currently the Assistant Director of Nursing. He received his Nursing degree from Broward College and is currently completing the Bachelor's of Science in Nursing degree at Chamberlain University. Alex brings his experience in the military as a medic and 14 years as a pediatric and adult Emergency nurse to our facility. His knowledge and experience help our patients get through the detox process comfortably and safely. Alex’s plans include obtaining a master's degree in nursing field of Psychiatric health and substance abuse.

Michael is excited and grateful to be a part of The Retreat of Broward Team. Michael brings years of experience in a variety of treatment modalities, including 12-Step, SMART Recovery and CBT. In addition, with many years in recovery himself, Michael draws on his own personal experiences to assist his clients when necessary. He has worked in operations at most levels of care and has a broad and detailed understanding of the rules and regulations governing the treatment industry. With that in mind, Michael’s goal is to maintain the highest level of integrity while providing the best client experience possible.

Suzanne Bickman, LMHC

Suzanne brings to The Retreat of Broward an extensive clinical and practical knowledge providing treatment to those with mental health and substance abuse disorders. Suzanne has an expansive formal education; she is a graduate of Argosy University with a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling. Suzanne increased her professional strengths by achieving clinical licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. She has long-standing clinical experience, working in various multi-level treatment facilities providing psychotherapy to those struggling with mood disorders, personality disorders, as well as chronic substance abuse disorders. Through her wealth of clinical experience and knowledge, Suzanne has proven to be a welcome addition to the clinical team and The Retreat of Broward as Clinical Coordinator and Lead Therapist.

Lauren Dolyak

Lauren has been with The Retreat of Broward for 2 years as a Therapist. She received her Psychology and Criminal Justice degrees from the University of Bridgeport after obtaining her certificate in Behavioral Healthcare. Lauren brings over 10 years of experience in Mental Health, Addiction and Domestic Violence advocacy to the Retreat of Broward. Her knowledge and experience help our patients get through the Detox process comfortably and being able to take their newly learned skills with them onto their next Level of Care. Lauren’s future plan includes finishing her degree in Nursing to continue helping others in need.

Keisha Brown, MS

Keisha Brown, MS

Keisha has worked in the mental health and substance use field for over 4 years. She has experience with providing therapy to adolescents and adults struggling with co-occuring disorders. While working in community mental health, she was able to serve individuals in a variety of settings including in home, shelters and schools which afforded her the opportunity to observe individuals in their environment. She has also worked with individuals involved in dependency court and the department of children and families. Her experience has increased her awareness of the need to not only assist individuals in their healing, but to also help cultivate a supportive environment. Keisha has worked to achieve this goal through hosting community empowerment events/workshops aimed at strengthening families and community cohesiveness.

Emily comes to the Retreat of Broward with extensive treatment experience providing essential services within different levels of care. As an admissions coordinator, Emily presents empathic with extensive knowledge to provide initial services to those trying to seek treatment. Emily is a graduate of West Springfield High School, studied towards peer mentorship, and is a Certified Event Interventionist. Emily comes to us with a wealth of insight and awareness on the critical importance of providing treatment and intervention to those struggling with chronic substance abuse disorder. Emily has proven her commitment to helping those in need by providing countless hours of admissions services to those who seek treatment. Emily has a very close understanding of those struggling with substance abuse as she has been closely affected by the impact of addiction within her own family. She has proven to be a great and profound addition to our treatment facility and to our team as an admissions coordinator.

Adam is a native Floridian and excited to be a part of the Retreat of Broward Team. He draws from his personal experience in recovery to create a safe and hospitable environment in which his patients can recover. Adam has worked as a BHT and BHT Supervisor for years at all levels of cares – his professional experience has provided him with a broad base of knowledge from which he draws as he provides day-to-day care. His managerial goals include sharing his wealth of knowledge with his team of BHTs – the goal for the team is to provide the best patient experience in a safe and effective manner.

Mary Kellan, more often referred to as “MK” is our case manager at The Retreat of Broward. MK was born and raised in southern West Virginia until she moved to South Florida in 2014. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a focus in Addiction and Recovery from Liberty University. Since moving to Florida, MK has been an active member of the local recovery community and has worked in substance abuse treatment since 2015. MK is passionate about guiding and supporting those struggling with substance abuse/mental health through the peaks and valleys of their recovery journey.
